Eligibility to Learn Karuna Reiki® Levels:
Karuna Reiki® is often seen as the next step in the Usui Reiki Journey.
To eligible to learn
Karuna Level 1,
1. You have completed Usui Reiki Levels 1 & 2, and
2. Have experienced the benefits of Reiki.
For Karuna Level 2,
1. You have completed Reiki Level 3A, and
2. Have also completed Karuna Level 1.
For Karuna Mastership 1 & 2
1. You have completed Karuna 1 and Karuna 2
2. And have practised the healing on self for at least 6 months after Karuna Level 2

How Karuna Reiki® and Usui Reiki Blend Together
in a Reiki Session
Karuna Reiki and Usui Reiki, though distinct in their symbols and techniques, blend harmoniously to create a powerful and holistic healing experience. Practitioners who integrate both modalities often find that they complement each other, amplifying the healing energies and deepening the therapeutic effects. Here’s how they work together:
1- Complementary Energies:
Usui Reiki is known for its gentle yet profound healing energy. It works on balancing the body’s energy centers (chakras), promoting relaxation, and facilitating the body’s natural healing processes.
Karuna Reiki, on the other hand, operates at a higher vibrational frequency and is particularly effective in addressing deep-seated issues such as current and past life traumas, relationship entanglements, emotional wounds, and karmic imprints. It facilitates deep emotional and spiritual healing by accessing and releasing these buried energies.
2- Enhanced Healing Potency:
When combined, the foundational energy of Usui Reiki provides a stable and balanced base upon which the higher vibrational energies of Karuna Reiki can build. It opens up the possibilities of allowing the healing of unconscious psychological blocks, specially identifies and helps in releasing addictions, co dependent relationships and allows for more purposeful way of creating, living and sharing with others. These symbols can be used alongside Usui symbols within a session, providing a comprehensive toolkit for the healer.
4- Depth of Emotional, Spiritual healing and Enhanced Intuitive guidance:
Karuna Reiki allows for an opening of intuitive abilities by opening the higher chakras in the chakras column. The attunement process facilitates this opening and with the activation of the heart center, it allows the practitioner to tap into and bring through compassionate action in their healing service. During a session, practitioners may start can open the crown chakra by using the higher energetic vibrations of Karuna symbols by chanting and toning and then use the Usui symbols as guided.
The higher frequencies of Karuna Reiki can open practitioners to greater spiritual insights and guidance, which they can then apply within the balanced framework provided by Usui Reiki.
5- Flexibility in Healing Approach:
The combination allows practitioners to be more flexible and responsive to the client’s needs. They can seamlessly switch between the gentle, nurturing energy of Usui Reiki and the intensive, transformative energy of Karuna Reiki, tailoring the session to address the unique healing requirements of each client.
Practical Application in a Reiki Session
In a typical blended Reiki session, a practitioner might proceed as follows:
1- Preparation and Grounding: Start with Usui Reiki techniques to create a sacred space before starting any healing work. As a next step it is wise for the practitioner to shield themselves and the client during the session.
2- Energy Balancing: Use Usui Reiki symbols to scan for imbalances and remove energetic blocks. When the blocks are removed and healed, it allows the client’s energy to become more free flowing, enabling the experience of peace and calmness
3- Deep Healing: Introduce Karuna Reiki symbols to address specific issues as guide by the intuitive part of the brain to heal the energies of emotional blockages, deep-seated fears and unconscious patterns which are keeping the client stuck. The practitioner may feel intuitively guided to use certain Karuna symbols based on the client’s needs.
4- Integration and Grounding: In Conclusion, both Usui Reiki and Karuna reiki are blended together and the healing energies are sealed and the client is grounded back into their body. This step is essential in a session where high frequency energies are utilised as the client can feel ungrounded and out of sorts after the session, if the energies are not properly integrated.
Karuna Reiki® is taught in three levels:
KARUNA Level 1:
The Karuna I symbols consist of four sacred symbols, each serving a unique purpose in the healing process.
The first symbol facilitates deep healing, particularly effective in healing at the cellular level, heal past lifes, abuse and karmic issues. It prepares the client for profound transformation.
The second symbol operates on a deep level, targeting negative patterns that you unconsciously adopt to shield yourself from reality. By dismantling these patterns, it helps dispel illusions and denial, facilitating healing of the shadow self.
The third symbol is imbued with the essence of love, infusing the recipient with a sense of harmony and restoring balance to their being. It aids in the development of good habit and develops compassionate action.
Finally, the fourth symbol concludes the treatment by grounding the client, bringing them back into their body and ensuring their connection with the present moment. It heals the lower chakras making you more fully present and can release pain.
KARUNA Level 2:
The Karuna II symbols comprise four sacred symbols, each imbued with a heightened frequency and serving distinct purposes in the healing process. These symbols facilitate a deeper connection with the Higher Self and operate on an elevated level of consciousness. While they are taught with specific purposes, practitioners often find that their energy also invites intuitive guidance during application, enhancing the healing experience.
The first Karuna II symbol: It opens up the connection with your True Self and brings about a deep sense of connection and belonging and brings home the lessons from a situation allowing the practitioner to understand their role in creating and holding on to situations.
The second Karuna II symbol: This symbol brings into awareness of how you relate to others and allow them to energetically interfere giving your power away to them. It helps you understand how to own your own power and heal from within.
The third Karuna II symbol: This symbol helps is very healing for those who are experiencing fear and panic attacks. It brings about peace, acceptance and clarity in the student. It enhances psychic abilities and intuition and allows practitioners to deepen their trust with energy healing thereby enabling them to further trust their own inner guidance.
The fourth Karuna II symbol: Once the energies have been cleared using the previous 7 symbols, the practitioner is now able to remove stagnancy and stuckness allowing for fresh and vital energy to be called in.
Together, these Karuna II symbols form a sacred toolkit for spiritual evolution and healing, guiding practitioners on a journey of self-discovery, transformation, and divine alignment.
Karuna Level 3 & 4
Karuna Level 3 and 4 comprise advanced stages of the Karuna Reiki® training, offering practitioners the opportunity to step into the role as master teachers. These levels 3 & 4 build upon the foundation laid in earlier stages, allowing the practitioner to hold the energy of the master symbol and attune to it. It provides a platform for deep inner work resonating with the master symbol. Through Level 3 and 4 training, practitioners delve into advanced symbols and techniques, allowing them to access higher levels of consciousness and spiritual understanding and actualise this spiritual understanding into practical application.
These higher levels also emphasize the importance of self-mastery and personal development. When these levels are taught there maybe opportunity for profound inner transformation. This levels empowers practitioners to embody the principles of love, compassion, and divine alignment in their healing practice and daily lives which is very essence of Karuna.
As practitioners progress through Karuna Level 3 and 4, they deepen their connection with the universal life force and become catalysts for healing and transformation, both for themselves and others.
The second set of levels, Levels 3 and 4, in the Karuna Reiki® training are typically taught together, providing students with the comprehensive knowledge and experiences necessary to attain mastery as a Karuna Reiki® Master/Teacher.
Throughout the course, students engage in various activities, including:
– Exploring and addressing the aspects of the shadow self, fostering acknowledgment and healing. The shadow self includes hidden parts of ourselves that we have judged, shamed and pushed away as unacceptable. As students come to the level of mastery I often find that they are able to understand and accept many parts of themselves that were deemed unacceptable before understanding the role that parts have to play.
– Receiving instruction on how to do attunements for the symbols specific to Karuna Reiki® Levels 3 and 4: Students are guided through comprehensive training to master the sacred art of passing the attunements to others and also how to guide students as teachers of this technique.
– Dedication of time to practice utilizing these symbols, integrating them into their consciousness: Through regular practice sessions, many a times, a healing crisis situation helps students the energetic imbalance that has been tightly held onto and the energy work clears the energetic imprint of the past helping the students energy to expand and allowing students to evolve consciously.
– Learning and experiencing the techniques of chanting and toning in conjunction with these symbols: Students are encouraged to sound out the symbols to experience how the energy resonates deep within their being and allows them to personally witness the transformation power of sound in the healing process.
– Understanding the attunement process for all four levels of Karuna Reiki®, along with ample practice in performing them: Students gain proficiency in conducting attunements at all levels, ensuring effective transmission of healing energies.
– Familiarizing themselves with the structure of the course, teaching methodologies, and the anticipated standards for each level of Karuna Reiki®: Students gain insight into the course structure and teaching standards, preparing them to become skilled instructors and guide other students with integrity and confidence.
Undergoing a written examination encompassing all symbols from all four levels of Karuna Reiki®.
Upon successful completion of the course, students are bestowed with an official manual, certificate of completion, and a registration number, affirming their mastery of Karuna Reiki® at Levels 3 and 4
